Club History

Here is a brief history of the club:

The Club was started in about 1969 by the Borough Green Parents' Association in Borough Green Primary School, and at that time all players had to either be a member of the Parents' Association or be a teacher to join.  Only later did the Club allow other people to join and the name was changed to Borough Green Badminton Club.

In approximately 1978 the Club started playing in the Tunbridge Wells Badminton League.

In 1991 the Club moved to Hugh Christie School in Tonbridge, as the then head of Borough Green Primary School carpeted the floor of the hall and turned it into a library.
The Club transitioned from using plastic shuttles to feather shuttles in 1996.

In 2005 the Club relocated once more, this time to our current venue, The Hayesbrook School in Tonbridge.
